Central Government's fix term appointment scheme for women

 

 

The Central government proposed a fix term appointment for workers working in Apparel Manufacturing Sector for women empowerment

The fix term appointment refers to the tenure of workers and their remuneration as per the labour laws.

The tenure of the workers will be fixed and as per the contract, it will automatically be terminated after the expiry of the period.

Majority of the appointment to be given to female workers

The working conditions, remuneration, working hours etc. would be at par with the permanent workmen.

This fix term employment scheme will enable the flexibility to employ workmen in Textile Sector.

This measure is important because it will serve as a medium for women empowerment.

70% of the workforce in the garment industry is women.

On the termination of the fix term period, the workmen is not entitled to any notice or pay in lieu.

The main of this policy is to provide flexibility to the workers and to improve the working conditions of them.
