India’s first high-speed bullet train between Ahmedabad and Mumbai work is in full force and is believed to be completed by the year 2022.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese diplomat Abepeer Shinzo had launched this dream project, in 2017, which led to a joint venture between Indian Railways and Japan's Shinkansen Technology.
According to the Managing Director of the National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRC) Achal Khare, almost 80% of designing of the bridges, viaducts and tunnels has been completed by the engineers based in Delhi, Mumbai and Japan.
The high-speed bullet train will cover the distance of over 500 km, between Mumbai & Ahmedabad in less than 2 hours, as compared to the present as 7 hours by train & 1 hour by airplane.
The Bullet train’s proposed corridor will start from the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai and end near the Sabarmati Railway Station in Ahmedabad. It will halt at 12 stations, out of which 4 stations will lie in in Maharashtra.
The Bullet train will achieve the maximum speed of 320 km/hr in 320 seconds and will travel up to 18 km.
The Bullet train will round up of total 70 trips each day (35 in each direction) between the two stations and it is estimated it will be catering 40,000 passengers per day,"
The Bullet train will have 10-car including 1 Business class and 9 of the Standard class at its initial phase, which will be extended to 16 cars after the year 2033.
