Famous Buddhist monastery Hemis, Tabor, McLeodganj, Thikse Math, Tawang Monastery Features, History Details

There are many pilgrimage places of Buddhism in the world. Some of these are Vihar, Pagoda, Stupa, Chaitya, Cave, Buddha idol and others.

1. Hemis Monastery:- It is about 45 km south-east of Leh in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Is located at a distance. It was built in 1630 AD. In the year 1972, King Seng Nangpara Gwalva was reconstructed by the Stegansong Raspa Navag Giatos. 

2. Tabor Monastery:-  It is located in Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. Its monastery was built in about 996 AD. This town is situated on the four sides of a famous Buddhist monastery Tabo Gompa, founded by Lochawa Ring-chain Jangpo (Ratnabhadra).

3. McLeodganj Monastery:- Tsuggl khan complex, for Buddhism, is one of the most sacred places in India. The 14th Dalai Lama's official residence is located in the southwestern part of McLonggunj. Here is a glimpse of Tibetan Buddhism.

4. Thikse Math:-It is a 12-story high monastery located 19 kilometers from Leh. This is a Gompa (monastery) associated with the Galgram community of Tibetan Buddhism. 

5. Tawang Monastery:- It is a Buddhist monastery located in Arunachal Pradesh. It is India's largest Buddhist monastery and is the second largest monastery in the world after the Potala Palace of Lhasa. It is located near Tawang town in the valley of Tawang river.
