BRICS Labour & Employment Ministerial two days meeting held in New Delhi on 27-28 September 2016 to discuss on issues including job creation and social security for workers.
Members from Labour and Employment ministry of All five member nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) attend the meeting in progressive environment.
1. Successful discussions on areas of common labour and employment issues among the BRICS countries happen in the group.
2. The BRICS Labour and Employment Ministerial Declaration also adopted at the end of these discussions.
3. Member countries of BRICS proposed strong interventions and actions in areas concerning social security, employment generation and formalization of labour markets leading to inclusive and sustainable development.
4. BRICS members agreed to pursue bi-lateral social security agreements amongst the BRICS member states.
5. BRICS members also acknowledged the need to develop a network of lead labour research and training institutions in BRICS member states.
