Bob Dylan, a singer and a story writer was awarded as 108th Nobel Prize in Literature on 13th October 2016.
Sara Danius, a literary scholar awarded him this prize and called him a great poet in the English-speaking tradition.
Dylan emerged as an artist in the tradition of Woody Guthrie and sings protest songs, played Guitar in clubs and cafes in Greenwich Village.
From the beginning, he was known for incredible lyrics and leaning song writing style.
In the year 1963, he also wrote lyrics of the song “Blowin’ in the wind” which was sung by the group of Peter, Mary and Paul and everyone loved it, it ranked No.2 on the billboard pop Chart.
He also won many awards like 10 Grammy Awards, one Golden Globe and one Academy Award.
He was also awarded with Presidential Medal of freedom medal by Barack Obama in 2012.
He was the first American to be awarded with Nobel Prize after Toni Morrison in 1993.
He will be awarded $8 million as the Nobel Prize 2016.
