National Sports Day 2020: Sports Adventure Awards By President Ram Nath Kovind
President Ram Nath Kovind virtually conferred Sports and Adventure awards 2020 at Rashtrapati Bhavan
Following the corona pandemic president virtually conferred award for sports and adventure. For the first time, Sports awards event is not organized in President House.
for the first time, five Khel Ratna award was given at one time. President Conferred awards to 74 Players and coaches in 7 categories. In which there was only 60 people were available.
A total of 38 players was given the Khel Ratna award till now. and today 5 more players got this award by president including Cricketer Rohit Sharma.
Five sports players with Khel Ratna are
1. Rohit Sharma,
2. Vinesh Phogat (Women Wrestling),
3. Table tennis player Manika Batra,
4. women's hockey team captain Rani Rampal,
5. Paralympic Gold Medalist Mriyappan Thangavelu.
