The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has amended Form 22 under Central Motor Vehicles Act, 1989 to provide certification of vehicle emissions.
They have asked Automobile manufacturers to provide information regarding emissions and noise pollution of the produced vehicles.
The Automobile Manufacturers is required to provide information regarding pollution standards, safety standards of quality and road worthiness certificate for all vehicles.
Under the Form 22, the Automobile manufacturers are required to provide information regarding pollution emissions of every vehicle even the electric carts or electric rickshaws.
This will be applicable to all types of vehicle like petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG etc and information provided includes brand, engine number, emission norm and chassis number of the vehicles.
They are required to also provide information regarding levels of each pollutant and the sound level of horn and noise values of the vehicles.
