Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh has inaugurated the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of IACP (International Association of Chiefs of Police) on 14th March 2018 in New Delhi.
The Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of IACP was a two-day conference arranged on 14th March-15th March 2018 in New Delhi.
The Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of IACP was organized by the Asia-Pacific World Regional Office (APWRO) of the IACP in alliance with the Intelligence Bureau. The Intelligence Bureau, Director, as the Chair of APWRO, is the hosting of the Conference.
The Regional Conference main theme is "Challenges to Policing in 2020: How is Cyber Space shaping our approach to Cybercrime & Terrorism, How do we perform within it and take advantage of it".
The Regional Conference aimed to give a platform for top-level National/International Police executives, in order to discuss and understand how Cyber Space is shaping our approach towards Cyber-crime and Terrorism and also how to take advantage of it for better policing.
The Regional Conference was attended by the IACP, President, Louis M. Dekmar, and Senior Executives of the IACP Headquarters.
The Regional Conference also showed the participation of the representatives from Police organisations of the Asia-Pacific Region, including, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Dubai, Fiji, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Nepal, Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand.
The Regional Conference was also attended by more than 35 Heads of Police Forces of States & Union Territories and of Central Police Organisations of India.
