Artistic Gymnastics World Cup: Dipa Karmarkar Medal Claims Bronze In Vault Event

 

 

Indian gymnast Deepa Karmakar won the bronze medal in the Vault competition on the third day of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Cottbus, Germany

Deepa, 25, from Tripura, got the bronze medal by scoring 14.316. He made it to the final in qualification by remaining sixth in 16 gymnastics.

Brazil's Rebecca Andrade got the Gold and silver medal to Jade Kare from the US.

Deepa won the gold medal in the Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in July in Turkey. Due to the knee injury, he could not play the Walt Final in Asian Games. In the balance beam category, Deepa's score was 11.066 and she remained 23rd.

In the men's category, Rakesh Patra was ranked 16th among 29 gymnasts with a score of 13,033 (5.3 + 7.733) in Parallel Bar Qualification.

Ashish Kumar also failed to perform well in the men's qualification round and stood 23rd among 27 gymnastics with 12.866 points. Aruna Reddy was unable to participate in the floor competition due to the knee injury on the first day.
