Article 148
There shall be comptroller and auditor general of India we shall be appointed by the president by warrant under his hand and seal and shall only be removed from office in like manner and on the like ground as a judge of the supreme court.
Every person appointed to by the Comptroller and Auditor general of India shall. Before he enters upon his office make and subscribe the president or some person appointed in that behalf by him, an oath or affirmation according to the form set out for the purpose in the Third Schedule.
The Comptroller and Auditor General shall not be eligible for further office either under the government of India or under the government of any state after he has ceased to hold his office.
Qualification: He should be a citizen of India.
The age should not be less than 35 and not more than 65 year.
Have an experience of state administration.
Should have experience of official work.
The C.N.G. of India is appointed by the president for six years of till sixty five years.
Duties: He is the guardian of the public purse and audits the accounts of the go9vernment of both the levels the center and the state.
