DGFT appointed ex-IAS Anup Wadhawan as a General Director
Directorate General of Foreign Trade appointed Anup Wadhawan as a General Director, Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry
Anup Wadawan is appointed as General Director of Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).
Anup Wadhawan is the senior IAS officer of 1984 batch in Meghalaya-Assam cadre.
Presently, Anup Wadhawan is Additional Secretary of Ministry of commerce
DFGT is the agency of Union ministry of commerce and Industry which is involved in promoting exports and limiting imports in the country.
This agency is responsible for economic growth in the country by looking for ways to increase exports in the country.
It also provides measures and motivation to the trade industry.
This agency is responsible for the execution of the policies related to imports and export in the country.
Before Wadhawan, Pravin Kumar was the General Director and is now been transferred to interstate council Secretariat.
It is a temporary agreement and is expected that Wadhawan will be in this post till March 2017.
