United Nations celebrates Anti-Corruption Day on 9th december, theme United Against Corruption for development, peace and security

United Nations celebrates 9th December every year as Anti-Corruption Day to focus on how corruption affects education, life, health, justice etc.

It is estimated that every year $1 trillion is paid in bribes and around $2.6 trillion is stolen through corruption.

Theme for 2016 Anti-Corruption Day is United Against Corruption for development, peace and security

Corruption is a crime which demoralize the social and economic development of the country.

The UNODC and UNDP have developed a global campaign to focus on how corruption affects the society.

The 2016 joint international campaign focuses on corruption as one of the most biggest impediments for achieving Sustainable Development goals.

UN Secretary Ban-Ki-Moon urged to celebrate this day as reaffirm the commitment to end deceit and dishonesty that threaten 2030 agenda and our efforts to acieve peace and prosperity of all on a healthy planet.
