A committee headed by Joint Commissioner of Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fishes (DADF) has set up a committee for monitoring Bird Flu.
This committee will monitor the situation arising out of Avian Influenza (H5N8) and will assist the state government for taking necessary steps to control influenza.
A control room has also been established in DADF where telephone no. 011-23384190 or 09448324121 can be contacted for any advice and can be contacted any time.
DADF has also issued guidelines for the maintenance of cleanliness in Zoological parks housing wild birds, water bodies and meat poultry areas.
Committee will also review all bird sanctuaries and areas where death of birds take place.
Daily meetings are also held at the DADF to be informed to Central or State Government in case of emergency.
Some birds have also died earlier due to H5NH8 virus and now close watch has been maintained to take steps to keep a check on the birds.
