Indian state Andhra Pradesh signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AutoGrid, a US-based leading provider of flexibility management software for energy sectors on 24th February 2018 at CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam.
The MoU was signed with an aim to boost and transform electricity sector of the Andhra Pradesh.
AP Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu informed that with this Andhra Pradesh will adopt smart grid and Internet of Things (IoT) based solutions of AutoGrid to improve energy utilities' financial health and customer experiences.
CM Naidu also added this solution will provide a major saving to the utility and also will deliver increased benefits to consumers, therefore resulting in the improved governance of the AP state.
The initiative involves demand-side management (DSM) programmes covering key segments, including agricultural pump-sets, residential/commercial ACs, and industrial units.
The Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company (APSPDCL) will use the programmes to evaluate its benefits to the utility as well as to the consumers in the state.
