Amit Shah was born to Smt. Kusumben and Shri Anilchandra Shah, an affluent Gujarati family in the year 1964 in Mumbai.
Amit Shah lived and studied in his parental village Maansa, Gujarat until the age of 16, and then in Ahmedabad.
Amit Shah was inspired and influenced by the nationalist spirit and vision of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) and became its active member in Ahmedabad.
Amit Shah is married to Sonal Shah and the couple have a son named Jay Shah.
Amit Shah became a member of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in 1986, one year before Narendra Modi joined the party. Amit Shah then gradually rose to hold various posts under BJP and currently, he is serving as President of the BJP as a member of Rajya Sabha.
Amit Shah loves to unwind by listening to classical music, playing chess and watching a game of cricket. He has a keen interest in stage performances also.
