AAP government has decided to not issue more liquor licenses in Restaurants or Mall shops in Delhi as the existing Liquor licences are enough to meet the demand.
The decision was influenced by the Swaraj Abhiyan’s Campaign where the government is granting more and more liquor licenses in the state.
Under the Excise Policy 2016, government has decided to not issue new licenses for liquor till further orders.
In Delhi, there are 704 restaurants and 399 mall shops with liquor licenses in the city.
As a result, the government will have to face many challenges related to protests and legal actions from a large number of people to grant licenses for the pending requests to issue licenses and some of them have also paid the license fee for the same.
