Indian Railways permits passengers to show m-Aadhaar, digital version of the Aadhaar card, as proof of identity in any reserved class Indian Railway journey.
For the purpose of showing Identity proof using m-Aadhar, a passenger has to open the app and enter his/her password to show on the request.
In this process, Passengers will be allowed to undertake the train journey in any reserved class only when they will show m-Aadhaar on their mobile after entering the password which is the standard process using an m-Aadhar app.
The m-Aadhaar is a popular android mobile app available at google play store launched by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
Any person can download his/her Aadhaar card details officially in the app. However, the m-Aadhar app can only be downloaded on the mobile number to which Aadhaar originally has been linked.
