Aadhaar mandatory opening bank account & transaction above 50,000

 

 

Government makes Aadhaar mandatory for opening a bank account and financial transactions of Rs.50000 and above

Government of India makes Aadhaar mandatory for opening a new bank account. There is a deadline of 31st December 2017 to link existing bank accounts with aadhaar number. Bank account will get void failing to link bank account with aadhaar.

Government of India makes Aadhaar mandatory for doing transactions of Rs.50000 or above.  

Aadhaar card is now mandatory for application for Pan Card and filing Income Tax return.

Steps to link Aadhaar with bank account

All nationalised banks asking their account owners to update their eKYC with Aadhaar number. Account holders can visit their branch for filling form to get their Aadhaar linked to their bank account.

People can also use online services and bank mobile app to link their aadhaar number with bank account using OTP service with their registered mobile number.
